Hollywood will get healthy at the ALIVE New York 2012 Celebrity Awards Show hosted by Jesse McCartney and two-day conference honoring A-list talents for their contributions to health and environmental issues.
E! personality Giuliana Rancic will be honored with the ALIVE award and the first annual live black-tie awards ceremony on Saturday, June 30. The entire event will be streamed globally from Times Square on June 29 and 30 and will be held at The Town Hall on 43rd Street.
A-list nominees who will be honored for their contributions to the health world include Justin Beiber, Will Smith, Russell Brand, Selena Gomez and Matt Damon. Online voters can pick their favorite stars from categories including everything from movie star, TV star, couple and breakout star to fitness, green action and inspiration. Natalie Portman is nominated in the movie star and beauty categories, Jessica Alba in the movie star and breakout company of the year for her The Honest Company and Demi Moore in the beauty and charity categories for work with the Demi & Ashton DNA foundation. Organizers are calling the unprecedented event The Academy Awards of Health & Humanities.
Despite the red carpet distractions, ALIVE’s goal is to increase awareness for serious health and environmental issues and raise money to support health programs across the US.
The two-day conference will feature leaders in the health field including doctors Gabriel Cousens, Stanislaw Burzynski, Robert Young and Gary Null.
Topics of discussion include how to reverse cancer naturally, “how to change your world from the inside out” and “how to protect yourself in a world of the unknown.”
The event is rolling out its red carpets for its gala awards show that organizers say will feature performances by “chart-topping artists.” The fundraiser hopes to be able to finance the US’ first all-natural immune clinic with a children’s ward, research center and acres of greenhouse gardens focused on growing organic produce. Proceeds from tickets sold will also go towards more than 15 charities.
