Amber Tamblyn is going to be a mama.
The actress on Wednesday revealed the news via a guest column for Glamour.com. “Motherhood has been heavily on my mind because I am going to be a mother soon. I’m pregnant, with a daughter on the way. I think constantly about the world I am bringing her into,” she wrote in her essay.
This will be the first child for Tamblyn, 33, and her husband, actor David Cross, 52. The couple got engaged in August 2011 before tying the knot in October 2012.
The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants star also penned her support for Hillary Clinton, the presidential candidate she believes is most qualified to be the country’s next leader.
“Hillary Clinton is a mom. She’s also a daughter. She’s also a grandmother,” Tamblyn continued. “I have wondered what kind of conversations she’s had to have with her daughter about men, or what conversations Hillary’s mother had to have with her about boys?”
She concluded: “After I’m done writing this, I’ll go back to my desk and fill out my absentee ballot. I’ll be voting for more than just a woman; I’ll be voting for a revolutionary idea. I’ll be voting for a future for my daughter where conversations about our bodies and our lives are broader than what value they have for men.”
Earlier this month, Tamblyn opened up about being sexually assaulted by her ex-boyfriend. She went public following Donald Trump’s leaked tape controversy, in which the Republican candidate could be heard making tasteless remarks about women to former Access Hollywood host Billy Bush.
