Getting invited to the illustrious Met Gala is no easy feat. But Amy Schumer, who attended this year’s ball with designer Alexander Wang, couldn’t care less about the event.
In an interview with Howard Stern on his SiriusXM radio show on Tuesday, the Girl with the Back Tattoo author revealed that attending the annual fashion extravaganza “felt like a punishment.”
“It’s not me and I don’t like it,” the comedian told Stern, adding that she left the party “earlier than I should have been allowed.”

Even after meeting Beyonce, the Trainwreck actress still wasn’t feeling it. When asked by the singer if it was her first time attending the Met Ball, Schumer responded: “It’s my last.”
“We’re dressed up like a bunch of f–king a–holes,” she continued. “I have no interest in fashion. I like the idea of coming up with a way to dress that’s more comfortable that looks cool. That sounds good to me. But other than that, I just don’t care.”
Schumer’s statement may come as a surprise given that she covered Vogue‘s July issue. The actress also posed with stylist Leesa Evans for The Hollywood Reporter‘s 25 Most Powerful Stylists list in March, sharing that Evans had “completely changed the way I felt about clothes and everything.” Perhaps the tide has turned.
