The last major gala in a week of massive events and parties leading up to the Golden Globes, The Art of Elysium’s 5th Annual black-tie “Heaven” Charity Gala on Saturday held at Historic Union Station in Downtown Los Angeles on the eve of the Golden Globes brought out a high-fashion A-list of celebrity supporters and volunteers.
The charity, which seeks to enrich the lives of artists and critically ill children, honored Elijah Wood, who accepted his recognition with the confession that “it’s strange to get an award from my family. I do what I do because this is for family.”

Art of Elysium founder, Jennifer Howell , certainly brought her stable of celebrity supporters including Kirsten Dunst in a floor dusting black Valentino gown, January Jones in Chanel, Ali Larter in a white Valentino column, Rachel Bilson in a Chanel confection with her stylist Nicole Chavez in tote, Jennifer Morrison in a sleek black KaufmanFranco, Amber Heard in silver and nude Donna Karan, couples Odette Yustman and Dave Annable, newlyweds and pregnant Molly Sims and Scott Stuber, and Jamie King and Kyle Newman.
Here are some things seen and heard on the carpet and inside the ballroom.
Cameron Silver Ups the Fashion Ante
While Art of Elysium is certainly a non-profit for all arts, it is a red carpet where fashion, in particular shines. Co-host and “Heaven” theme creator Cameron Silver, proprietor of vintage boutique Decades, divulged to The Hollywood Reporter “This is going to be the most glamorous set of attendees. I want this to be LA’s version of the Costume Institute Gala. Inside, it’s going to be a mix of various decades. One moment you’ll feel like you’re in a supper club, another moment like Studio 54, and we’re in the great, historic Union Station. It’s really cool. I’m very excited for the evening.” Of course planning of such a huge event had its hiccups, including arranging Silver’s scheduled fashion show. “Between the fashion show and the Golden Globes tomorrow, there was a jocking of dresses. Is it going to go to a supermodel or a superstar? It was difficult at times.”

Revenge Star Josh Bowman Takes His First Fashion Risk
As if getting the memo from Silver, Revenge breakout star, Josh Bowman, was styled by attendee Johnny Wujek in a wool print grey suit and spent most of the evening schmoozing with Wujek and rabbit-ear-wearing jewelry designer Markus Molinari. This was one of Bowman’s first fashion forward steps onto the carpet, and he seemed to just enjoy the spectacle of it all. “I don’t know much about my suit, but my friend Johnny Wujek said I should wear it!”
Attendees Camilla Belle and Abigail Spencer are volunteers, too
Camilla Belle, a fashion force in a belted yellow Carolina Hererra gown and ivory Ferragamo clutch, reminded us that fashion wasn’t the focal point of the night. “Every time I’m in town, I volunteer with [Art of Elysium] every week. I go to the hospital and do improv games with kids. I love it. I absolutely love it.” Abigail Spencer, who stars in February’s This is War and employed the help of fellow attendee and volunteer Brad Goreski for her sparkling black Lela Rose gown, also volunteers with improv on a weekly basis. “It’s my third gala and I’m proud to support this cause,” she enthused to THR.

Matthew Morrison Mingles With The Public and Pacifiers
The bathroom wasn’t the only place where celebrities collided with civilians. Though security was in force, Amtrak officials peeped their heads through the open archways and hecklers whistled and yelled from afar throughout the night. As party-goers migrated from cocktail hour to dinner through a busy corridor of commuting Angelenos, Glee’s Matthew Morrison, with date on his arm, commented to a family rushing by with a baby in the stroller, “Oh wow, there’s people here. There’s a pacifier! Hello.”
