The Hollywood Reporter’s fashion and beauty director, Carol McColgin, gives a behind-the-scenes peek at the styling of this week’s Crazy Rich Asians cover featuring stars Constance Wu, Michelle Yeoh and Henry Golding, and the film’s director, Jon M. Chu. “From a representation standpoint, it’s historic because it deals with Asian-Americans in contemporary context, which doesn’t really happen in American cinema. So it’s historic, and that means that I wanted to make it as great as I could make it,” says Wu of the buzz-generating film, the first studio movie with an all-Westernized Asian cast and creator since 1993’s The Joy Luck Club. It hits theaters this month.

A combination of luxury resort wear brands Orlebar Brown, Mr. Turk and Tory Burch with all-American classics Carolina Herrera and Brooks Brothers and the most elegant loungewear by Olivia von Halle and Sleepy Jones were key. Just add statement sparkle.
