As far as vices are concerned, tequila and candy are high up on the list for most people (including this writer).
With this in mind, the brilliant innovators at Sugarfina — whose past collaborators include Pressed Juicery and Whispering Angel Rosé — and George Clooney and Rande Gerber’s Casamigos Tequila had the magnificent idea to marry the two, bringing to the public a mouthwatering tequila-candy union.

Launched on Wednesday, the limited-edition collaboration includes three candies, each inspired by one of the Casamigos Tequila varieties: the Blanco, the Reposado and the Anejo. Each box retails for $8.50, while a three-piece “You Had Me at Tequila” Bento Box is priced at $28 — a definite Father’s Day crowd pleaser.
But this isn’t your average “infused” candy collaboration, like the Beverly Hills-based company’s previous partnership with Whispering Angel Rosé. In fact, one of the three candies from the collection, the dark chocolate “Give It a Shot” cordial, contains an actual “sip” of the Casamigos Anejo. And yes, you have to be over 21 to buy it.
Bite down into one of these babies and the liquid center bursts, not unlike an adult version of Gushers gummies. The sensation is enough to shock you at first, but that can be remedied by popping a couple more.
The other two candies in the collaboration, the “Shake Your Margarita,” infused with the Blanco, and the “Paloma Por Favor,” a sour gummy inspired by the Reposado, are a bit more palatable. Though these two don’t come with an age restriction, the folks at Casamigos whipped up the perfect complementary beverages.

Casa Skinny Margarita
2 oz. Casamigos Blanco
1 oz. fresh lime juice
0.5 oz. agave nectar
2 dashes orange bitters
1 Sugarfina Margarita gummy
Combine all ingredients into tin shaker. Add ice. Shake vigorously for 8-10 seconds. Fine strain into rocks glass. Add fresh ice. Garnish with half-moon orange slice and one piece Sugarfina Margarita gummy.
Ginger Mint Paloma
2 oz. Casamigos Reposado
1.5 oz. fresh grapefruit juice
1 oz. fresh lime juice
0.5 oz. agave nectar
8-10 mint leaves
2 fresh ginger slices
1 Sugarfina Paloma gummy
Combine all ingredients into tin shaker. Muddle ginger and mint. Add ice. Shake vigorously for 8-10 seconds. Fine strain into highball glass. Add fresh ice. Garnish with half-moon grapefruit slice, a sprig of mint and a Sugarfina Paloma gummy.
Anejo Old-Fashioned
2 oz. Casamigos Anejo
0.25 oz. agave nectar
2 dashes Angostura bitters
2 dashes orange bitters
Combine all ingredients into glass mixer. Add ice. Stir well for 30-40 seconds. Fine strain into rocks glass, and add one large block ice. Garnish with Luxarado cherry wrapped in orange peel, and serve with Sugarfina Anejo cordials.
