On Wednesday evening, Chanel hosted a cocktail party to showcase its latest Oscars weekend beauty activation with guests Kristen Stewart, Ava Phillippe, Olympic gold medalist Chloe Kim, Elizabeth Hammer, Grimes, Cindy Crawford, Tessa Thompson and more. Chanel-clad friends of the brand enjoyed a performance by superstar Tove Lo and snapped photos throughout the house, including in a pearl-filled bathtub.
The open-to-the-public house, available to visit by reservation, coincides with the launch of Chanel’s first user-generated content (UGC) Instagram account, @welovecoco, which is populated with posts from a community of users with a common love for the brand. Last month, Chanel also launched @chanel.beauty, an account that gives followers a look at the prolific brand’s red-carpet looks, selfies, flatlays and more.
Upon entering the house, a full-length mirror greets guests with a perfect selfie opportunity. The “Rebel In Red” room is the first stop to find a perfect shade. Try Rouge Allure Ink – 152 Choquant, $37, a matte liquid lip color that’s easy to apply, thanks to the lip-shaped applicator. Le Rouge de Crayon de Couleur — a jumbo longwear lip crayon — in Rouge Coral, $37, is a perfect red for spring, thanks to a petite sliver of orange color in the mix.
Makeup artists are on-hand to help mark your favorites with stickers on a Chanel lipstick card so you can shop your newfound favorites in the garden pop-up while you savor a Chanel popsicle.
Photo ops abound in the “Declare With Coral” powder room with its pearl-filled bathtub, and the “Swing Into Color” room with a pink quilted Chanel swing, fashioned to look like the brand’s iconic Caviar bag.
Stewart and girlfriend Stella Maxwell ended the evening in matching Chanel looks in the “Dare in Neutral” bar, where you can take photos of a Chanel card table and branded coasters. Tag #welovecoco and @welovecoco for a chance to get regrammed.
