WEDDINGS
Brooklyn Nine-Nine‘s Andy Samberg wed singer-songwriter Joanna Newsom on Sept. 21 at the Post Ranch Inn in Big Sur, Calif. The couple became engaged in February.
April Tombs, an agent at ICM Partners, wed Ian Weintraub, a marketing executive at Upp, at the Upstairs at the Kimberly Hotel in New York. The bride’s sister, Alexa, officiated the ceremony, which took place in front of approximately 100 people. The couple became engaged on Christmas day 2012.

Chelsea Lately senior producer Steve Marmalstein and his wife, Andrea Berrie Marmalstein, an advertising executive with Canon Communications, welcomed daughter Samantha Elizabeth on Sept. 12.
Manager-producer Mason Novick [(500) Days of Summer, Juno] and his wife, Katie Novick, welcomed daughter Clementine Grace on Aug. 31.

DEATHS
Lyn Peters, the widow of actor Paul Burke and an actress who appeared on such 1960s TV series as Batman and Get Smart, died Sept. 10 at her home in Palm Springs. She was 72.
Jon Mercedes, a personal manager, publicist, producer, writer (Happy Days) and film executive, died Sept. 16 at his Hollywood home from colon cancer. He was 65.
Director Richard C. Sarafian, a Robert Altman protege best known for his 1971 speed-obsessed cult film Vanishing Point, died Sept. 18 in Santa Monica after he contracted pneumonia while recovering from a broken back. He was 83.
Ken Norton, a former heavyweight champion who beat Muhammad Ali and went on to appear in the 1975 slave story Mandingo and other entertainment fare, died Sept. 18 in Las Vegas. He was 70.
