In her Choos: Indie actress and fashion muse Chloe Sevigny shot a mini road trip-inspired style diary for Jimmy Choo in the Florida Keys, where she was on location filming season two of Netflix’s drama Bloodline. The 41-year-old former model hand-picked a few of her favorite accessories from the designer’s spring-summer 2016 collection, influenced by the “laidback louche style” of Los Angeles, including palm tree-printed platforms and Coachella-worthy over-the-knee suede lace-up flats.
A roadside diner, a cheap-y tropical motel and a boardwalk were all stops on Sevigny’s sun-bleached adventure in a vintage Ford Falcon. In terms of what inspires her own eclectic mix, Sevigny says: “Growing up in suburban Connecticut, most of my style influences were people I’d see around me, the rebels at school, the girls who were into alternative music, in clunky shoes and black mock turtlenecks, they had the bumper sticker for the alternative station on the back of their Volvos, they were the crowd I wanted to roll with.”
Adds Jimmy Choo’s creative director, Sandra Choi, of the star: “Chloe reflects the edgier, more daring side of the Jimmy Choo woman. I love the fact that she’s a bit unexpected — a unique and creative aesthetic.”
Here, a behind-the-scenes peek at the shoot and the final video cut.
TRUCKING ON: “I have an extensive archive [of clothes] in Connecticut and have held on to most of my wardrobe from high school on. I sometimes unearth things like a pair of jeans, or a sweater, T-shirt or boots and cycle them back into my everyday wardrobe,” says Sevigny, who hit the road in denim cutoffs and boots.
COMING IN CLUTCH: A palm leaf appliqué bag and retro-style shades.
WHITE HOT: “I loved the ankle strap and red vinyl at the toe-cleavage — these shoes would be great with jeans or a sexy dress. They remind me of white pumps I’d wear in the ‘90s, with everything,” says Sevigny of Jimmy Choo’s LUC pumps.
CAUTION: Falling coconuts (and killer flats).
WALK THIS WAY: Color-blocked wooden platforms on the boardwalk.
BOMBSHELL: The self-proclaimed “vintage freak” rocks a silk bomber and cork wedges.
SHADY LADY: “Sunglasses are an everyday must — once I find a pair I love, I wear them till they fall apart,” says Sevigny.
SPECTACULAR: “These bejeweled ones [sunglasses] are so fun and they’d elevate any outfit,” says Sevigny of her sparkly specs.
