Chris Pratt is better known for his role as absentminded Andy Dwyer on Parks and Recreation and roguish space adventurer Peter Quill/Star-Lord in Guardians of the Galaxy. But for his style? Not so much. Nevertheless, he’s been named “Man of Style” in InStyle‘s September issue.
In a self-deprecating Instagram post featuring his portrait from the fashion spread for the magazine, Pratt pokes fun at the whole experience, dressing down the fantasy of a Hollywood photo shoot in a way that makes him come across as down-to-earth, and a bit embarrassed by the whole thing.
“Full disclosure I did not pick out any of the clothes which is kinda funny for a guy who is called the ‘man of style,'” he captioned, adding the tears of joy emoji. “I mostly like T shirts with American flags on them. Usually I go for the one on the top of the ‘shirt pile’ but I want to promote this nice magazine called InStyle Magazine because everyone who was there that hot day we were doing the photo shoot was really nice. And they played good country music.”
Pratt noted that there were horses on set, but those images didn’t make the cut. He continued, “Maybe I accidentally closed my eyes or maybe the horse’s agent threw a Hollywood bitch fit for some reason.” (He later posted another Instagram, explaining that the photographer saw his caption and sent him the shot of him posing with the horse.)
The Jurassic World actor even scored a piece of clothing from the shoot.
“Oh! They even gave me a shirt!!!! Such a nice shirt,” wrote. “Like a flannel shirt but made out of pajamas and the thing cost like $500 or something ridiculous but they just gave it to me!!!”
One image sees him posing in a purple tee and a Patagonia hat. “In this photo I try to casually put my left hand in my pocket but the pants are so tight I get the tip of three fingers in,” he explained. “Also I was sweating so bad they give me that hat.”
In another photo, the 37-year-old dons an all-denim look and pretends “to itch my neck in a Canadian tuxedo.”
Someone get Pratt a modeling contract, stat.
