Designer Christian Siriano — the new CFDA member frequently worn by Christina Hendricks, Sarah Hyland and Heidi Klum — is engaged to musician Brad Walsh, a rep for Siriano confirms to The Hollywood Reporter.
“We’re very excited about our engagement — we’ve been together for almost six years and look forward to taking the next step,” the couple tells THR exclusively. “No plans for the date just yet, but we will be getting married here in New York state, where we are happy that our love is recognized.”
Siriano and Walsh say the engagement is a mutual decision they’ve been discussing for a while. In lieu of engagement rings, they spontaneously opted to find something they’d both like to wear, and landed on Saint Laurent “Bapteme” bracelets. The alternating pieces are both made of gold vermeil and sterling silver, and retail at $1,590 each. They exchanged the bracelets on Saturday.
The two tweeted a photo of their newly accessorized wrists on Sunday evening, with Walsh adding, “We’ve told our moms so now we can tell you. Yesterday we exchanged engagement bracelets.”
In particular, Siriano — who first collected attention for winning season four of Project Runway and opened his first storefront in Manhattan’s NoLita district last year — says he can’t wait to plan the wedding, while Walsh is already looking into tuxedos for their dogs. Until then, preparations continue for the showing of Siriano’s 12th collection at New York Fashion Week on Sept. 7.
