With summertime just a month away, traveling is most certainly on our minds — and luckily, WHIT designer Whitney Pozgay‘s capsule collection for Anthropologie fits the bill for packing the perfect summer getaway wardrobe. When designing her 18-piece petites collection for the contemporary retailer, Pozgay says she referred to “old photos of people taking trips to Hawaii in the ‘60s Tiki movement.”

Taking a cue from tropical settings, the limited-edition range includes a striped A-line dress with a giant pineapple print, a vibrant floral-print green shirtdress, an off-the-shoulder striped frock, and a comfy-looking yarn-dyed romper, which were on display for guests attending an intimate outdoor patio dinner at Lucques Wednesday evening.
“Anthro has such a nice vintage, bohemian spirit and it’s kind of that escapism of traveling and seeing the world,” Pozgay, who was dressed in one of her own designs for Anthropologie, tells Pret-a-Reporter of why she decided to partner with the brand again. “It’s fun for us to explore that side of our brand and lean in to more vintage-y pieces.” The WHIT Two collection marks the second time Pozgay has partnered with Anthropologie; her first collaboration launched in spring 2013.
While Pozagay’s husband and creative partner Parker Argote was unable to attend Wednesday’s celebration (“He’s not here, one of us had to stay back and work,” shares the NY-based designer), she was still in good company with a guest list that included Louise Roe, Scream Queens star Nasim Pedrad and Oh Joy! blogger Joy Cho. And since it was a dinner party hosted by Anthropologie, it was only fitting that guests were treated to a colorful table setting that featured an exotic bird candle holder, printed cotton napkins and artificial fruit decors.
The WHIT Two x Anthropologie Petites collection, priced between $68 to $248, drops May 27 online and in select Anthropologie stores with dedicated Petite Shops.
