Can’t keep up with what’s been going on in the social media world? Fret not. Here, a gathering of what the stars have been up to this week on social media.
ALL OF THE FEELS
John Legend’s newest single, “Love Me Now,” off his forthcoming album, Darkness and Light, releases on Dec. 2. The husband-goals king posted a clip of his “Love Me Now” video, showcasing powerful, emotion-evoking imagery of couples from all over the world. But it’s wife Chrissy Teigen and daughter Luna who steal the show. Don’t be surprised if you get slightly teary-eyed watching this clip.
Tom Ford Velvet
Champagne Papi posted a photo with Taylor Swift, simply captioned: “Is that velvet?” Well, Drake did wear a Tom Ford petrol velvet Shelton jacket with notch lapels to his Oct. 23 birthday party, where the photo was taken. Swift wasn’t wearing velvet, but rather a Meshki black trench ($89.95), Vatanika crop top ($270) and Blaque Label leather skirt ($95, sold out). Were Drake and Tay just talking fashion, or should we except a duet about the “It” fabric of the season? OR ARE THEY DATING?

Kate Bosworth, Heartbreaker

Matt Lauer Launches Stationery Capsule Collection
Today show host Matt Lauer partnered with Shinola Detroit for a five-piece collection to benefit Detroit Edison Public Academy. The collection includes stationery, a planner, notebooks and a passport cover. Each item is marked with the number 20, in honor of Lauer’s tenure at the Today show. Lauer professed his love of stationery and unplugging from email, which inspired the collection. The good news is, the collection is nearly sold out, except for the passport cover. After visiting the Detroit factory and meeting the employees making the collection, Lauer wrote a note to the Shinola folks: “Let’s never forget the personal touch. Thanks for helping.” All class.
Tweet and Delete?
In case you missed it, the CMAs‘ annual awards show delighted fans this week with a surprise joint performance featuring the Dixie Chicks and Beyonce performing Bey’s hit “Daddy Lessons.” Social media gold mine for any awards show, right? Beyonce and the hive drives likes and follows like no other celebrity. So, why did the CMAs delete any and all traces of Beyonce from its social media platforms? A statement to Billboard read, “CMA has not erased any mentions of Beyonce’s performance on the CMA Awards. In advance of the broadcast, CMA removed a five-second promotional clip from ABC.com and CMA’s Facebook page. The promo was unapproved and CMA removed it prior to the broadcast. Beyonce’s performance with Dixie Chicks was a highlight of the evening and we are continuing to share the amazing full-length performance clip via our official social channels.” The CMAs are trying to rectify the social media snafu by posting GIFs, but the damage has been done. Country music isn’t ready to make nice with the Dixie Chicks, either. The comments and tweets are mind-blowingly idiotic, but the BeyHive is swarming around the girls to keep the haters at bay. Oh, what a time to be alive!
