Days after becoming second-daughter, Ella Emhoff is joining the modeling industry.
IMG tweeted Thursday: “NOW REPRESENTING: #EllaEmhoff!” The international agency represents numerous modeling superstars, among them Gigi Hadid, Bella Hadid, Karlie Kloss, Miranda Kerr and Gisele Bündchen.
“Ella communicates this moment in time,” IMG Models president Ivan Bart told the New York Times. “There’s a cheekiness and a joy she exudes.”
Emhoff, the 20-year-old daughter of second gentleman Douglas Emhoff and stepdaughter of VP Kamala Harris, turned heads during the inauguration on Jan. 20, wearing an embellished Miu Miu coat and custom burgundy Batsheva dress. Hollywood stylists Jill Lincoln and Jordan Johnson, who styled the Parsons School of Design student for the ceremony, recently told The Hollywood Reporter “[Ella] is so passionate, excited and wants to have fun, take risks and express herself through the clothes she wears.”
The coat choice made styling Emhoff an effortless experience: “It was the first piece she saw and tried on when she walked into the fitting … our feeling was confirmed. She lit up,” said her stylists.
Emhoff’s signing announcement comes two days after the agency confirmed Amanda Gorman, another inauguration breakout star, as a client. The 22-year old Youth Poet Laureate gained instant fame with her poem “The Hill We Climb” and is currently the youngest poet to ever perform at an inauguration.
