Still not convinced that luxury cannabis is the next big thing in the wellness world? Try this one on for size: Equinox — the fitness center favored by celebs like Khloe Kardashian and Alexander Skarsgaard and name-dropped by Kanye West on his Life of Pablo album — has partnered with cannabis brand Lord Jones, whose fans include Busy Philipps and Sarah Paulson, for a first-of-its-kind rejuvenating workout taking place at the Hollywood Equinox.
The “higher healing” recovery workshop is going down at 4 p.m. on Thursday, April 20 — the date once known as a high holiday for stoners, but which has since been adopted by various upscale cannabis brands as a celebration of the positive effects of the plant.
“As part of our Lord Jones Health & Wellness programing, we have partnered with Equinox to produce a series of events,” Cindy Capobianco, co-founder of Los Angeles-based Lord Jones, told The Hollywood Reporter. The recovery workshop, the first event in the series, will integrate the brand’s cannabis-infused topicals into the session, where guests will be invited to apply it to sore muscles.
“The whole plant healing lotion enhances active recovery and is non-psychoactive,” reads a release about the class, which will be led by instructor Derek Beres. Attendees will go through a sequence of deep stretches, restorative poses and self-massage sequences, and will be encouraged to “reach that higher state of mind as we finally wind down with an extended savasana and massage by The Spa at Equinox.”
Lord Jones, which will be traveling back next weekend to the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival — where it provides its delectable edibles to artists who are fans of the brand — will also host an event at The Standard, Hollywood on 4/20.
