STORY: ‘Diff’rent Strokes’ Dad Conrad Bain Dies at 89
DEATHS
Conrad Bain, who starred as dad Phil Drummond on Diff’rent Strokes, died Jan. 14 of natural causes in Livermore, Calif. He was 89.
Michael Winner, the British director of such 1970s films as Death Wish and The Mechanic, died Jan. 21 at his home in London following an illness. He was 77.
Jimmy Kimmel’s Turn at a Star
Jimmy Kimmel will receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Jan. 25. The comedian is in his 11th season as host and exec producer of ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live!, which tapes on Hollywood Boulevard.
