It wasn’t just her growing baby bump that made Emily Blunt radiate on the red carpet of the L.A. premiere for The Huntsman — she was absolutely glowing. The actress’ natural beauty shone through, which was the goal of Ashley and Jenn Streicher, the dynamic sister duo who handled her hair and makeup for the evening.
“I wanted to create an effortless bohemian makeup look to complement Emily’s Valentino dress,” Jenn told Pret-a-Reporter. As for her hair, Ashley added that the gown’s low-cut, ruffled style influenced the soft, modern look they were aiming for. She opted for a low-key ‘do that kept the focus on her luminous face and shining hair.
For even more radiance and freshness in her mane, Ashley used StriVectin Color Care Vibrancy Booster ($27) before anything else. The chignon called for a center part, and the stylist used StriVectin Hair Max Volume Root Lift Spray ($26) at the roots before using a small round boar bristle brush for the blowout. Before securing her hair into a loose pony and then knot, Ashley added Sachajuan Dry Volume Powder in Dark ($32) to the crown of her head for volume and hold.
When it came to her makeup, Jenn used a light touch: “I think that no-makeup-makeup look is still in full effect, along with dewy and glowing skin from within. I think the entire look is perfect for spring. It’s very soft and light.” A significant part of that equation is the skin prep: Kate Somerville Goat Milk Moisturizing Cream ($65) and Goat Milk De-Puffing Eye Balm ($38) and Laura Mercier Primer – Radiance ($36) went on before any color products.
The softness of Blunt’s hairstyle was echoed in her subtly glowing skin, which came via Laura Mercier’s new Candleglow Soft Luminous Foundation in Linen ($48). For more of that lustrous effect, “I also gently brushed Laura Mercier Matte Radiance Baked Powder in Shade 3 ($40) onto her decollete and shoulders, because it has a nice illumination to it and leaves the skin looking radiant.” Peachy and pearlescent gray hues served to pop Blunt’s baby blues, and Jenn finished off the pretty, basic look with the perfect nude: a mix of Laura Mercier Velour Lovers Lip Colour in Indiscretion and Embrace ($28).
