Among the Gucci evening gowns and tuxes on the many many stars at the inaugural LACMA Art + Film Gala, which paid tribute to director Clint Eastwood and artist John Baldessari: a few of those over-the-top stunning spring 2012 beaded jazz-age dresses we cooed over when we first saw the runway show.

Either an homage to the upcoming movie The Artist or zeitgeist coming from HBO’s Boardwalk Empire, the 1920s are roaring back in the spring — and nobody did it better than Gucci.
We did not expect to see these beaded sequined dresses with their deco detai and chain fringe so soon since the September spring show. But Evan Rachel Wood, Zoe Saldana and Camilla Belle each snagged one and wore their hair and makeup in appropriate 1920s ways.

Gucci reps hinted to us that the dresses will not be in stores through February or so, and the retail tag will be a bit higher than most women can spend for an evening dress: about $5,000.
Not only that, we understand the dresses are very very fragile. Sounds like they were made for movie stars and a film gala!
