What do you do after the reality show — which has documented your every cat fight, hookup and mascara-stained tear since high school — ends? Why, you start a clothing line, of course.
This was the route of several of the Laguna Beach/The Hills alum, including Lauren Conrad (naturally — she went to the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising, after all), Kristin Cavallari, Whitney Port and now, Audrina Patridge.
Patridge has finally caught up to her entrepreneurial co-stars by launching Prey Swim, a premium swimwear line inspired by her childhood spent on the beaches of SoCal as well as her “fascination with sharks,” according to a release. The debut resort 2017 collection has a strong ‘60s/’70s Marrakech vibe, and includes two-pieces and separates.
“Visits to islands like Hawaii and Bora Bora, paired with my natural beach spirit, love for both the ocean and fashion, have always summoned my desire to create a swimwear line,” said Patridge, adding that Prey Swim (available XS-L and A-DD; $105-$275) was a passion project three years in the making.

Lauren Conrad: LC Lauren Conrad for Kohl’s, Paper Crown
Conrad’s LC Lauren Conrad for Kohl’s collection was launched in 2009. In 2011, she launched Paper Crown with Maura McManus, a feminine collection with a higher price point.
Kristin Cavallari: Kristin Cavallari Footwear
Kristin Cavallari launched her eponymous shoe collection in collaboration with Chinese Laundry in 2012. The collection is currently available at Nordstrom, Amazon and Zappos.
Whitney Port: Whitney Eve
Whitney Port, who interned alongside Conrad at Teen Vogue, also wound up in the fashion industry. In 2008, she launched her Whitney Eve label, though these days she appears to be more invested in her lifestyle and fashion site.
RIP: Heidi Montag’s Heidiwood and Brody Jenner’s Archangel Jewelry
Both token mean girl Heidi Montag and token Orange County bro Brody Jenner attempted their own ill-fated endeavors. Montag’s Heidiwood collection, which was sold at Anchor Blue and panned even by teens, crashed and burned almost as fast as Jenner’s Archangel jewelry collection (both launched in 2008). Jenner told Seventeen at the time, “My heart really lies in my jewelry line, Archangel.” He added, “Watching a company develop is like watching a puppy grow. When you can watch something grow that you created — it’s really an amazing feeling.”
Maybe we could see the resurrection of Archangel in the future? It certainly sounds like a job for ex-step-mom Kris Jenner.
