How Chrissy Teigen Does Spring Cleaning

Springtime calls for spring cleaning, and Chrissy Teigen is all for it.

While attending H&M’s dinner Tuesday night to celebrate the new Conscious Exclusive collection, the model shared with The Hollywood Reporter that she recently Marie Kondo’d her closet.

“Oh my god, I did a complete closet clean-out. I’m not kidding. I called [luxury consignment service] The RealReal and they came over the same day. My stylist, Monica Rose, and I went through my entire closet. It went from being flooded to being completely empty now,” said Teigen. “They took 500 pieces from me.”

She added: “I feel mentally cleansed.”

The clothes sold from Teigen’s collection will benefit Planned Parenthood. The RealReal won’t publicize the pieces as belonging to the Lip Sync Battle co-host, however, unlike the sale of Kris Jenner and Kourtney Kardashian’s designer items on the site.

“We didn’t want to make it a thing on the site because people obviously have their different opinions [about Planned Parenthood] and I didn’t want to make it a thing of whether or not they were going to buy the pieces because they didn’t want the money to go there,” explained Teigen.

The model didn’t get rid of everything, of course, including two of her most prized H&M pieces.

“I have a bolero jacket — I know the word ‘bolero’ doesn’t sound very cool, but it’s pretty fantastic. I feel very cool when I get to wear it. And I have a long silky robe with florals,” said Teigen, clad in a plunging blazer from H&M’s Conscious Exclusive collection and wide-leg split pants.

“I’m obsessed with anything that is comfy and easy,” she added. Luckily, Teigen’s stylist is aware of her style preferences.

“There is nobody like Monica. She’s so mellow and sweet. She wants you to feel beautiful. She doesn’t press her style onto you or make you into anybody else,” said Teigen, before adding with a laugh, “but I don’t want to talk to highly of her — I don’t want other people to hire her.” Too late.
