As Marina Monroe rang in the two-year anniversary of her membership-only boutique, Stylehaus, located at The Grove, the Los Angeles-based fashionista called on New Zealand designer Andrea Moore to help her celebrate the occasion.
Moore brought her fall 2014 collection to the Sofitel Hotel in Beverly Hills, where guests sipped on “skinny” cocktails and braved The Bumbys — an anonymous duo of New York performing artists who provide “fair and honest appraisals of your appearance” through nothing more than a typewriter and keen observation.
“In true Stylehaus fashion we had to celebrate our two-year anniversary in a big way and, of course, with style,” Monroe said. “We’re so excited to debut (in the U.S.) New Zealand designer Andrea Moore. Her pieces are one of a kind and daring. It’s been an inspiring collaboration that will continue as I head to New Zealand to style and host their show for NZFW. It’s really an amazing moment both personally and for Stylehaus, and I’m eager to begin the next chapter of this dream business.”
Moore’s collection included plenty of ready to wear pieces featuring bold prints, feminine sheers and impeccably tailored separates. The designer says she aims to bring out a woman’s inner confidence with her work, using an aesthetic and craft that are uncompromising on color, tailoring and fit.
Longtime Monroe client and Dancing With the Stars mainstay Kym Johnson was on hand for the celebration, as was TVGN’s The Tequila Sisters and Travel Channel’s Mikey Roe.
