Jennifer Aniston, Kate Hudson and Elizabeth Chambers were among the boldface names who stopped by the Sunset Tower Thursday night to sip cocktails and show support for their pals, jewelry designer Jennifer Meyer and actress Jenna Dewan Tatum, at a party hosted by the pair and Gilt.com. Meyer’s ex-husband Tobey Maguire even stopped by to fete the launch of the jewelry collaboration benefiting Baby2Baby.
“We really had a moment of debating if we should actually have this party tonight because of what was going on with all of the fires,” explains Meyer, “But we figured there is no better time than tonight, to actually bring awareness and just knowing that all of the proceeds go to Baby2Baby.” Currently the organization is spearheading an immediate call to action by collecting high-need items including diapers, blankets, formula, shampoo and more for the children and families affected by the fires burning across Los Angeles, Ventura County, Sylmar and Santa Clarita.
The six-piece necklace collection features a delicate triple heart design in 18K yellow, white and rose gold, with select styles including pave diamond or pave pink sapphire hearts, ranging from $350 to $975.
The women, who met through a mutual friend when Dewan-Tatum was pregnant with daughter Everly (now 4 years old), were excited to get the chance to work together. “This was the perfect opportunity to see each other a little more; I have never designed jewelry before and it was really fun for me,” says Dewan-Tatum. Replies Meyer with a laugh, “She was very helpful!”
“I love hearts. I wear them a lot in my life and I actually have a lot of Jen’s hearts — I like that there were different options, some with diamonds, and who doesn’t love pink?” joked the actress, who was rocking a pastel pink Zac Posen dress for the occasion.
One hundred percent of the net proceeds of the capsule collection will benefit Baby2Baby, an organization that provides low-income families with the basic necessities that every child deserves. By distributing to nonprofit partner organizations including homeless and domestic violence shelters, Head Start programs, foster care programs and children’s hospitals, Baby2Baby will serve more than 150,000 children in Los Angeles this year and tens of thousands more across the country through the Baby2Baby National Network.
The full collection officially launches today exclusively on Gilt.com/Baby2Baby.
