Karlie Kloss would generally be described by most as calm, cool and collected — one of the more levelheaded supermodels out there.
Which is why Kloss‘ angry tweets and Snapchats took us by surprise when she called out Philippines Airlines on Monday afternoon. “No one [flies Philippines] Airlines … and now I know why,” Kloss wrote on Snapchat in red block text over a selfie in front of the airline’s check-in desk.
The 23-year-old later tweeted the Snap to her 1.28 million followers, along with this message: “@flyPAL HAS THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE OF ALL TIME.” She adds, “Most BUDGET AIRLINE. Rude & disrespectful. Shame on you @flyPAL.”

According to a statement issued by the offending airline to Philippines news outlet ABS-CBN, the supermodel missed her flight home after arriving at the check-in gate 25 minutes after the desk closed. “As a matter of policy, the PAL check-in counters at JFK International Airport close one hour before estimated time of departure,” reads the statement. “Flight departure was at 12:15 a.m. June 7 and counters closed at 11:15 p.m. June 6; Ms. Kloss arrived at 11:40 p.m.”
The airline reached out to Kloss on Twitter shortly after her inflammatory post, however not before Kloss‘ tweet was retweeted more than 3,000 times.
@flyPAL Thank you 🙂 I’ll DM you now.

ABS-CBN also reports that the airline comped the model for the cost of her unused ticket as well as her rebooking fees, and would be “pleased to serve Ms. Kloss’ travel needs in the future.”
By Wednesday, however, Kloss seemed to be back to her usual, happy go-lucky self, posting a photo with boyfriend Josh Kushner in honor of the couple’s four-year anniversary.
