Katherine Heigl and Her Mother Nancy’s Closet Sale For Animal Welfare

On Wednesday, Suits star Katherine Heigl and her mother Nancy launched their first Posh Closet for Charity with the social commerce platform Poshmark.

To help support their passion project, the Jason Debus Heigl Foundation, a non-profit in honor of Katherine’s late brother dedicated to animal welfare, the Heigls have opened their closets for the pop-up closet sale, which bows today and will see a second release in mid-May.

The curation of 150 items including heels from the likes of Balenciaga to Gucci, knits by Diane von Furstenberg and St. John, as well as dresses by Stella McCartney and Carolina Herrera, were chosen to reflect Katherine’s love of polished neutrals and Nancy’s sartorial sense, which errs on the side of elegance.

“We are big believers in the power of family and giving back, and are excited to celebrate both through this special partnership with Poshmark,” Katherine said in a statement. “We were drawn to the community and connections that thrive on Poshmark, and my mom and I couldn’t think of a better way to share our style [and] celebrate Mother’s Day.”

The actress is no stranger to giving back. In addition to supporting her chosen foundation, she has also lent her star power to PETA by urging lawmakers to make factory farms more ethical. Heigl has also been honored by the American Cancer Society for her efforts in raising awareness about cancer-related issues.

The Heigls join Poshmark board member and tennis icon Serena Williams. who recently released a collection from her daughter Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr.’s closet, as well as Emmy-award nominee Rachael Ray and music producer DJ Khaled.
