Fans looking for Kendall Jenner’s Instagram are out of luck.
As of Monday morning, the social media-savvy supermodel’s account has been deactivated. Those trying to access @kendalljenner are met with the message: “Sorry, but this page is not available.”
It’s unclear why the runway star would shut down her page. However, in an interview with Allure in October, she noted that she’ll sometimes “delete Instagram or Twitter or Snapchat off my phone for a couple days” to shut off from the digital world.
Jenner also recalled a time when she was traveling with little sister Kylie that made her realize how much social media has taken over their lives.
“It was the first time we had ever been to this beautiful place, and we were sitting in a car,” she told the beauty glossy. “I was just zoning out, taking it all in. And Kylie wouldn’t put her phone down. I’m like, ‘That’s so crazy to me that you’re not experiencing this.’ That was the moment it kind of clicked for me. And I didn’t like it.”
Jenner is arguably one of this generation’s most influential Instagirls. In August, she had amassed more than 63 million followers, and for a while she had the most-liked photo with her heart-shaped hair image that garnered 3.6 million likes. (She’s since been dethroned by Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez). She even landed a beauty contract with Estee Lauder in November 2014 because the brand found her to be the “ultimate Instagirl” and was “excited to leverage her image, voice, energy and extraordinary social media power to introduce Estee Lauder to millions of young women around the world.”
Jenner follows in the footsteps of Justin Bieber, who deactivated his account after his followers bullied his then-girlfriend Sofia Richie. Despite deleting Instagram, Jenner is still active on Twitter. Her last tweet was posted on Sunday to promote her new YA book with Kylie, Time of the Twins.
Perhaps Jenner just wants to take an Insta break like big sister Kim Kardashian?
