Kim Kardashian is opening about how the Paris robbery has changed her into a better person.
“I feel like that was so meant to happen to me,” a teary-eyed Kardashian told Ellen DeGeneres on the TV host’s daytime show. “I’m such a different person.”
“Things happen in your life to teach you things. I was definitely materialistic before,” she said, adding, “I’m so happy that my kids get this me. I just don’t care about that stuff anymore.”
Kardashian said her lawyers told her the robbers had been following her for two years and watching her in interviews and on social media when she would talk about expensive jewelry. After the robbery, Kardashian said, she doesn’t know if she’ll ever wear real jewelry again.
DeGeneres interjected some comic relief when Kardashian recounted the incident, saying that the robbers had asked the hotel doorman, “Where’s the rapper’s wife?”
“How dare them not know your name,” joked DeGeneres.
