Attention humans: You can now smell like Kobe Bryant.
The basketball superstar and Oscar-winning producer has joined a new body care brand called Art of Sport as a founding partner, alongside entrepreneur Matthias Metternich (and co-founder Brian Lee) who developed the line. Art of Sport came to life with the modern athlete in mind and, according to the company, is “formulated from the ground up to recharge, refresh and protect athletes’ skin.”
It’s now on shelves and the debut line includes the following products: Deodorant ($8.95), Antiperspirant ($8.95), Hair + Body Wash ($8.95), Body Bar ($8.95) and Sunscreen ($13.95). Up next: an ultra-strength Recovery Cream (an Essentials Kit with deodorant costs $35.00).
As part of his new role with the line, Bryant will advise on all aspects of the business with a focus on brand-building and storytelling. And he says the goal is easy to understand: “An athlete, at any level, is always focused on how to improve. With Art of Sport, the goal is simple — provide innovative body care products designed for sports performance. We brought together the best minds in skincare to develop products that allow athletes to stay focused on competition.”
The brand also brought together some great athletic talents. Bryant is joined by Art of Sport’s athlete roster: Javier Baez, 2016 World Series Champion and All-Star second baseman; Sage Erickson, professional surfer; James Harden, reigning NBA MVP; Ken Roczen, World Champion motocross and supercross racer; Ryan Sheckler, skating legend and X-Games gold medalist; and Juju Smith-Schuster, a NFL wide receiver.
