All hail King James.
The Los Angeles Lakers’ newest player LeBron James is getting his own sushi roll. On Monday, Katsuya by SBE revealed on Instagram the restaurant’s newest menu item, the King XXIII sushi roll.
The menu item takes its name from James’ nickname, King James, and features the NBA star’s jersey number, 23.
A royally made dish, the roll consists of king crab, A4 Wagyu beef, truffle butter, wasabi and ume topped with caviar. It costs $35.
The sushi plate not only honors the basketball player, it raises money for a good cause. For every purchase of the King XXIII roll, SBE will donate $1 to the LeBron James Family Foundation, which supports James’ newly opened I PROMISE School in his hometown of Akron, OH.
James’ foundation and Akron Public Schools partnered to launch the I PROMISE School, which serves grades 1- 8 and will provide a STEM-focused curriculum.
The roll will debut on Katsuya’s menu Oct. 15 and will be available to order throughout the NBA season and into a possible Lakers playoff run.
The King XXIII roll will be available at the following Katsuya locations:
Brentwood – 11777 San Vicente Blvd, LA CA 90049
L.A. Live – 800 W. Olympic Blvd, LA CA 90015
Hollywood – 6300 Hollywood Blvd, LA CA 90028
