As they say, timing is everything. And that was especially true at Monday night’s CFDA Awards, where Olympic skier Lindsey Vonn was reportedly asked to “pee in a cup” by International Olympic Committee officials.
According to the New York Post, the elite athlete (and Tiger Woods’ main squeeze) was enjoying the evening’s festivities with designer Cynthia Rowley, who escorted her to the prestigious fashion industry awards ceremony and also custom designed her sweeping white gown. And sometime between Hillary Clinton presenting Oscar de la Renta with a Founders Award and Phillip Lim winning Accessory Designer of the Year, Vonn received a call on her cell asking her to meet IOC’s team of drug testers outside of Lincoln Center.
So she did. And while wearing the long, snowy-hued gown made just for her, the gold medalist peed in a cup while Rowley apparently stood watch. The specimen was tested on the spot, and Vonn, who will soon return to training after suffering a severe knee injury in February, passed with flying colors.

USADA spokesperson Annie Skinner confirmed to NBC’s Olympic Talk that Vonn was indeed tested. While the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association’s Tom Kelly explained to the Post that “All elite athletes in all sports are always on call for testing 24/7/365. Testing can and does occur at any time. Athletes are required to report their whereabouts at all times.”
If Vonn and Woods ever decide to tie the knot, we suggest they turn off their cell phones during the ceremony.
