Mila Kunis is adding another job to her resume.
The actress is joining media startup Brit + Co as an advisor, The Hollywood Reporter has learned. According to CEO Brit Morin, Kunis will “bring a fresh perspective” to the company, known for its DIY tutorials and other lifestyle editorials, and help it work with the entertainment industry as it looks to create more longform videos and tap into influencer networks.
“Mila understands and has an appreciation for Brit + Co’s mission of inspiring and empowering women to be more creative,” Morin added. “Her genuine passion will allow her to advise and contribute in an authentic way.”
Kunis most recently starred in Bad Moms with Kathryn Hahn, Kristen Bell and Christina Applegate. The actress, herself a mom of two with husband Ashton Kutcher, is set to return in the sequel, A Bad Moms Christmas, later this year. She said she’s excited to use her experience in the entertainment industry to help Brit + Co as it makes video a bigger focus.
“I’m looking forward to working with Brit and her team at Brit + Co to help further their mission of empowering young women,” she added. “From their lifestyle content to their recently launched series on immigrant women, Brit + Co understands the power of creativity and the importance of women supporting each other, both things that I personally connect with.”
Morin launched Brit + Co in 2011 and has grown the site to an audience of 125 million across platforms. The company, which has raised more than $42 million from investors including Verizon Ventures and Marissa Mayer, has a partnership with Target to create DIY merchandise for the retailer. It also recently joined the 2017 class of the Disney Accelerator as it builds out its business of online tutorials and other videos.
Now, Kunis is joining that list of advisors and investors. She noted, “Brit + Co’s positive take on encouraging young women to be more confident and creative is something that has always been of importance to me.”
