Karlie Kloss wasn’t the main event at the V Magazine party on Thursday night at Pacha. “I’m really happy to be here with you tonight, because about four years ago the doctors diagnosed me with cancer,” the Grammy Award winner told the crowd towards the end of his set. “I said, ‘Well, I’m going to start writing a bunch of songs, and doing a bunch of shows until I can’t do no more.’ So Disclosure, Avicci, Daft Punk, we just started writing a bunch of music, and this is one of the first ones we did. It’s called ‘Get Lucky.'”

As the crowd — including Kloss, Stephen Gan, Cody Simpson, Dree Hemingway and Constance Jablonski — went wild for Chic and Nile Rodgers throughout the evening, hosts and photographers Inez Van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin filmed the event as part of music video for Chic’s forthcoming single “I’ll Be There,” to be released worldwide March 20 from the group’s new album coming this summer.
