When it comes to New York Fashion Week, Selma star Tessa Thompson does not fool around. She did double duty at shows on Tuesday, going first to Rodarte in a black-and-red ensemble with high lace-up boots and her hair down, then showing up to Jenny Packham right after wearing the designer’s gold satin slip gown with a jacket over it and her hair back.

How did she manage the double looks? “Two guys, a driver and an SUV,” she laughed. Yes, she admitted, she changed her clothes and her hair in the car and attempted to shield her body from oncoming traffic. Her stylists Wayman Bannerman and Micah McDonald served as the “two guys,” and are spending fashion week with the actress before a whirlwind Oscars weekend (she’s hit Rodarte’s afterparty on Tuesday night, with plans to sit front row at Marchesa on Wednesday before attending a Barneys dinner and New York magazine’s relaunch fete).
