Frank Ocean may have done the rounds at Paris Fashion Week this season, but the Grammy Award winner seemed most excited about Tuesday morning’s Chanel show in the Grand Palais, where he joined the likes of Jessica Chastain, Vanessa Paradis, Milla Jovovich and Princess Caroline in the front row. A giant globe rotated in the center of the space while models in signature Chanel tweeds, patent-leather-tinged dresses and over-the-knee leather boots circled the runway to Daft Punk’s “Around the World.”
“I think he’s the MAN,” Ocean said regarding designer Karl Largerfeld when The Hollywood Reporter caught up with him right before Valentino. As for the clothes, was there anything he wanted to buy? After all, Kanye West sure did look good in a lady’s Celine blouse at Coachella in 2011.
“Well, I don’t wear women’s clothes.”
But what about the leather pants and chunky knits that male model Baptiste Giabiconi was wearing?
“They were women’s clothes, too.” (Note: We’ve checked in with Chanel’s PR, and Giabiconi’s looks were indeed made for men; they will be sold at select Chanel stores across the globe.)
