But, for what they lack in size and practicality, the newest little luxuries more than make up for in charm — the very essence of arm candy. Favorites included Chloe (soft blush with a gold metal top handle and assorted swingy fringe styles) and Celine (a shrunken classic black leather tote with contrast stitching) for daytime, as well as Alexander Wang’s bracelet bags, part of his final all ivory-hued collection at Balenciaga — the dainty, waterfall-like gold mesh chains work well for evening and red-carpet outings. Louis Vuitton, Kenzo, Valentino and Chanel also joined in on the mini trend with the most entertaining being Karl Lagerfeld’s purse-size rolling suitcase complete with lock and retractable handle. True to form, Lagerfeld thought of every little detail.
