HOUSE OF KARDS: The Kardashian clan is notorious for making money off selling engagement and wedding photos and weight-loss announcements to the weekly magazines. But no media outlet is getting an exclusive “Why I Left Him” story from Kim, surprisingly. It seems her prenup with Kris Humphries has locked her out of saying anything negative about her soon-to-be-ex-husband, and vice versa. So much for the estimated $300,000 such a story could bring her. That doesn’t mean that the family has circled the wagons and stayed out of the spotlight. Kim’s heading to Australia to promote the Kardashian Kollection for Sears. And on the day of Kim’s divorce announcement, Kris Jenner made a live TV appearance on QVC to shill her line, even though she could have backed out. Promoting the family brand was apparently more important.

Seems Jerry Bruckheimer needs to leave town to loosen up. The week of Oct. 17, the notoriously straight-arrow producer threw a JBFilms bash at his 1820s revival home outside Louisville, Ky. He tweeted: “The Studio 54-themed party at the JBFilms retreat last week brought back some memories. … Had a great time.” He also blogged about the company’s ice hockey team matches and some “Amazing Race-style challenges, a day at the races, ATV rides and much more” that weekend. Bruckheimer declined comment.
Ronni Chasen, the Movie
Her life was devoted to movies, and now her death will be the subject of one. French company Patrick Spica Productions is working on a TV documentary about the 2010 killing of publicist Ronni Chasen. Director Agnes Pizzini is interested because “it looked like a screenplay at the beginning” and “ended like a sordid affair.” The half-hour doc will air on French network NRJ12 in spring 2012.
Sinead Ahead
If her set at the amfAR event Oct. 27 doesn’t ensure Sinead O’Connor‘s comeback, then the song she sings on the soundtrack to the Dublin-set Albert Nobbs, the haunting lullaby “Lay Your Head Down,” just might. When the film’s star, producer and co-writer Glenn Close heard composer Brian Byrne‘s first instrumental track, she chose it to be the end-credits song and the film’s theme. Close wrote the lyrics herself, then decided the Irish diva should sing it. But O’Connor was in Bulgaria and Byrne in Ireland. In the end, O’Connor sang via Skype, Byrne produced on his laptop and Close listened in from her house in Maine. They laid the song down in seven hours flat.
Diamonds and a Girl’s Best Friends
Elizabeth Taylor was tempestuous in her love life, but little else was left to chance — particularly her death. The actress wrote out, according to sources, the 400-person guest list for her Oct. 16 memorial. And eight years ago, Taylor worked with Christie’s to plan exactly how the December auction of her jewels would be presented.

Anderson Cooper is rather demanding on his new talk show. Those who give interviews have to sign contracts with Anderson Cooper Entertainment (ANE) that are “a little bit crazy,” one lawyer tells THR. They can’t discuss their appearance with their families, and they can’t appear on other talk shows for six months, which even Oprah Winfrey didn’t insist on. ANE did not get back to THR by press time.
