Kate and Laura Mulleavy, the fashion designer sisters turned Hollywood film directors, have officially joined Instagram at @kateandlauramulleavy.
The move is timed to the release of the trailer for Woodshock, which dropped yesterday. The A24 film, which was also written by the Mulleavys, is set in their native California and stars their pal, Kirsten Dunst.
In addition to some requisite promotional material, including the film’s poster and a teaser of the trailer, the sisters have posted images from their inspiration, including a vintage photograph of their mother, taken by their father, in the 1970s in Humboldt, California. When scouting locations for their film, the Mulleavys tracked down the exact location where the photo was taken.
Though the decision to launch the joint Instagram account was likely a business one, with the sisters attempting to build their Hollywood brand as separate from their Rodarte one, we’re always on board for another designer Instagram account to follow. (We’d highly recommend giving Gucci’s Alessandro Michele, @lallo25, a follow.)
