Dapper Dan is open for business in Harlem nearly 20 years after his original iconic boutique shut its doors. With the help of Gucci, who paid homage to the designer by sending a replica of a Dapper Dan jacket down the 2018 resort runway, the designer is now taking appointments at his converted brownstone showroom. The designer tweeted that he will create made-to-order garments, but that a selection of ready-to-wear pieces will also be available.

Kendrick Lamar Designed His Own Version of the Nike Cortez [High Snobiety]
Kendrick Lamar put his own spin on the classic Nike Cortez sneaker, which the athletic retailer rereleased with plenty of fanfare last year. The rapper stamped the name of his latest album, DAMN., across a white version of the sneaker, replacing the typical swoosh. The style, called the Cortez Kenny 1, drops Jan. 26 on Nike’s SNKRS app for $100.
Elle Names Stephen Gan as Creative Director [Pret-a-Reporter Inbox]
Elle magazine has named Harper’s Bazaar‘s Stephen Gan as the glossy’s new creative director. Gan fills the vacancy left by Nina Garcia, who was promoted to editor-in-chief following Robbie Meyers’ departure in September. Gan served as creative director of Bazaar for more than 15 years prior to his new appointment, and he is also the editor-in-chief of VMan magazine. Said Garcia of Gan, “Stephen is a creative visionary. I’ve long admired his commitment to taking risks and thinking beyond the parameters of traditional design…He has an uncanny ability to predict who and what everyone will be talking about next and understands the intersection of pop culture and fashion in a way that speaks directly to the ELLE woman.”
Guess Jeans U.S.A. Launches Capsule Collection Celebrating Anna Nicole Smith [Pret-a-Reporter Inbox]
Guess Jeans U.S.A. has joined forces with photographer/artist Cali Thornhill Dewitt on a capsule collection celebrating Anna Nicole Smith, longtime Guess muse and model, former Playboy Playmate and reality show star who died in 2007. The collection features a sweatshirt and a tee, each featuring Smith’s image circa 1992 on the front and the words, “Do you miss me?” in red block letters on the reverse. The styles are offered in both black and white and retail for $90 and $170, respectively. The capsule is available beginning Jan. 17 on GuessJeans.com.
