As anyone who’s ever drooled over a Spongebob Squarepants Moschino sweatshirt knows to be true, creative director Jeremy Scott likes to borrow motifs. But it looks like he may have forgotten to ask for permission for one image in particular. Graffiti artist Joseph Tierney, who goes by the moniker Rime, is suing both Scott and the Italian fashion house for incorporating his work into the brand’s fall 2015 collection without his consent. In a lawsuit filed in California yesterday, Tierney claimed that the a strapless black dress, which Gigi Hadid rocked down the runway and which Katy Perry also wore at this year’s Met Gala, prominently featured his image, “Vandal Eyes,” that he painted in 2012 for The Seventh Letter art organization in Detroit. Tierney is seeking monetary damages and demanding that Moschino pull the offending items from shelves. [THR]
Christian Louboutin is taking its signature red — found on the soles of the luxury label’s heels — and transforming it into the next lip color du jour. The brand announced their new line of Louboutin Lipsticks, available in 36 shades and three textures, which will be sold for $90 a pop at Saks this September. And if you’re coveting that particular shade of red, it’ll be easy to spot. The Rouge Louboutin shade will come in a special black packaging, while the other shades will be housed in gold. Vanity Fair released its annual best-dressed list, and, as expected, it was peppered with no-brainers like Rihanna, Emma Stone, and Sienna Miller. A few fresh faces making their 2015 debut include Amal Clooney, Alicia Vikander and Misty Copeland. [Vanity Fair]
