French Court Orders Kering to Pay Hedi Slimane $13 Million [Yahoo]
A lawyer for Hedi Slimane stated Wednesday that the French Court has ordered Slimane’s former employer Kering, parent company of Saint Laurent, to pay the designer $13 million as part of a provisional court ruling on the suit he filed against the company last week. Slimane sued Kering after the company did not apply the non-compete clause in his contract, thus shorting him of a significant sum.

The British “It” girl, who has designed several collections for the brand, pivoted into a new position as the face of the denim label’s autumn/winter 2016 collection. Model-turned-designer Coco Rocha has taken a majority stake at modeling agency Nomad Mgmt, along with her husband and longtime collaborator, James Conran, and industry veterans Damon Rutland and Roman Young. Moving forward, Nomad will also represent Rocha in modeling deals. Previously, IMG had handled her modeling ventures. However, her entertainment deals will continue to be handled by WME | IMG. As brand director for the agency, Rocha hopes to stand up for models’ rights and mentor budding talent.

There are two styling options: “Instant,” in which users send outfit photos for immediate feedback ($1.99), and “Consultation,” in which users can chat live for 30 minutes (approx. $20, depending on the stylist).
