Margot Robbie Covers W Magazine in Calvin Klein [W Magazine]
Ahead of the release of her new film, I, Tonya, about controversial figure skater Tonya Harding, Margot Robbie revealed to W Magazine that she actually feels sympathetic for Harding. “The more I became Tonya, the more I saw things from her point of view,” she told Lynn Hirschberg. “I’m on her side 100 percent. I don’t think she did anything but be different from what the world wanted. There are cool misfits, and then there is Tonya. She didn’t fit in. And I love that.” The Aussie actress was photographed by Craig McDean for the cover wearing Calvin Klein — which has so far been a hot choice for the November issues. (Tessa Thompson wears a similar western-style shirt from Raf Simon’s debut fall 2017 collection in a different colorway for the cover of Elle’s Women in Hollywood issue.)

PETA Praises Blade Runner 2049 Costume Designer for Ryan Gosling’s Faux Shearling Coat [Pret-a-Reporter Inbox]
PETA sent a box of sheep-shaped vegan chocolates to Blade Runner 2049 costume designer Renee April for using faux shearling on star Ryan Gosling’s fan-beloved signature knee-length coat. “It’s not shearling, which would be too heavy, it’s actually cotton that we laminated and painted over,” April told The Hollywood Reporter. “It’s indestructible.” Said PETA senior vp Lisa Lange, “Sheep are kicked, punched, and stomped on in the wool industry, which slaughters young sheep to turn their skin into shearling coats…Vegan is the future of fashion, and PETA is recognizing Renee April and Blade Runner 2049 for showing how chic — and kind — that future is.”
LVMH Sales Up 13.6 Percent [New York Times]
Despite reporting stronger-than-expected sales in the third quarter, LVMH warns that the months ahead could be less fruitful. The third quarter results were fueled by high demand for the company’s luxury apparel labels in China; dwindling cognac stocks, however, is just one of the issues that have the company worried about its immediate future. The unfolding of various political scenarios — from Brexit to the strengthening Euro to escalating tensions between President Donald Trump and North Korea — could affect tourist spending and luxury spending overall.
