Austin Swift, 25-year-old younger brother of pop star Taylor, made his way onto our radar earlier this year after he nabbed an acting role in Live by Night, the period drama starring Ben Affleck and Elle Fanning. But this month, the budding actor got his own Vanity Fair profile and photo shoot, for which he was gussied up like James Dean in a Tom Ford white tee and Armani trousers, posing at various L.A. sites including Chateau Marmont. Swift describes being driven to film when he was a 250-pound high school sophomore who looked up to Viggo Mortensen and Clive Owen. The Notre Dame grad also paid his dues by interning at Lionsgate, where he produced and distributed DVD screeners.

The Phoenix Art Museum’s fashion design department will present a new exhibition in honor of the late L.A. fashion designer James Galanos. The retrospective, which runs Aug. 19 through Jan. 7, will feature more than 40 ensembles and accessories from the designer best known for dressing Nancy Reagan, as well as Jackie Kennedy and Marilyn Monroe. The selection will feature works from Galanos‘ archives of pieces from the ‘50s to the ‘90s.
