Vera Wang Designed Figure Skating Phenom Nathan Chen’s Olympic Costumes [NBC News]
America’s golden boy (well, he hasn’t quite won the gold — yet) Nathan Chen had the best in the fashion biz on his side when it came to costumes for the Winter Olympics in South Korea. Vera Wang, a former Olympic hopeful figure skater herself, will outfit the 18-year-old figure skater for the competition. Wang also designed 2010 gold medal winner Evan Lysacek’s Olympic looks, and has previously whipped up designs for the likes of Nancy Kerrigan and Michelle Kwan.
Serayah McNeill Is the Newest Face of Madonna’s Material Girl Collection [WWD]
Empire’s Serayah McNeill is the newest ambassador of Madonna’s juniors label, Material Girl. The 22-year-old, who has been spotted all over New York Fashion Week this season, sitting front row at Jeremy Scott and Juicy Couture, stars in the spring 2018 campaign photographed by Carter Smith. Past ambassadors for the brand, which is sold exclusively at Macy’s, have included Zendaya; Rita Ora; and Madonna’s own daughter, Lourdes. The campaign goes live Tuesday.

Fosun Will Take Control of Lanvin [Business of Fashion]
The Chinese conglomerate Fosun (which owns a stake in Italian menswear label Caruso and minority stakes in Greek jeweler Folli Follie and SoCal-based fashion label St. John, among other businesses) has outbid Qatari investment fund Mayhoola (owner of the fashion brands Valentino, Balmain, Anya Hindmarch and Pal Zileri) for control of Lanvin, the world’s oldest continuously running fashion house, which is headquartered in Paris. Founded in 1889, Lanvin has had a bumpy road since the abrupt firing of star designer Alber Elbaz in 2015, with reports of plummeting sales and the departure of two subsequent creative directors.
