Suki Waterhouse and Poppy Jamie celebrated their new accessories line, Pop & Suki, at classic Hollywood haunt Mel’s Drive-In on Wednesday night, amongst pretty-in-pink girls and guys.
Created by best friends Waterhouse and Jamie, the line plays off fashion’s current personalization trend, except that on Pop & Suki styles, monograms are placed discreetly on the bottom of bags so only those who are in-the-know know.

At the event, the color pink covered every possible surface inside the diner, transporting partygoers to a girly paradise. The young designers were joined by a starry young crowd that included Cara Delevingne, Georgia May Jagger, Chiara Ferragni, Ansel Elgort, Paris Hilton, Ryan Phillippe, Seth MacFarlane, Ellen von Unwerth and Julianne Hough. Guests dined on french fries and hamburgers and sipped champagne or Pop & Suki-branded milkshakes served in monogrammed milk jars.

In between ‘80s hits on the soundtrack, we asked the designers: Why personalize the bottom of the bag? Jamie explained: “Our branding isn’t very obvious. We love the idea that this could be your bag, and, if you want everyone to know that it’s your bag, it just takes a little flip. If you also want to stay mysterious, you can do that too.” “It’s not too much in your face,” added Waterhouse.

The Pop & Suki camera bag’s wallet-friendly price point ($195) is also intentional. “I hate it when I find something that I love, and you’re like ‘Oh, I can’t buy that,’ ” explained Jamie. “Maybe you can save up and have it for a Christmas present!” chimed in Waterhouse, who was wearing Houghton’s SS16 Danny top and tulle skirt.

The camera bag is the ideal starter style, the designers suggested. “Get the camera bag with the shoulder strap because you can do the cross-body, you could have it over one shoulder, and then maybe get the short strap because then you can dangle it on the side or on your wrist.”

The collection also includes a “best friends” keychain, which encapsulates the spirit of the new brand and would be the perfect holiday gift for your BFF.
