Taylor Swift missed last year’s Met Gala red carpet due to her high-profile 1989 World Tour, but on Monday night the evening’s co-chair returned to the annual fundraising extravaganza in her edgiest look yet. She upheld her prestigious title by stepping out in a space-age-friendly bejeweled, ruffled Louis Vuitton dress with side cut-outs and knee-high lace-up stilettos.
This year’s theme celebrates the museum’s Costume Institute exhibition “Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology,” which explores the intersection of haute couture and machine-made fashion, at the Metropolitan Museum of Art on Monday in New York.
Swift, who covers Vogue‘s May issue, most recently debuted her bleached blond ‘do on the fashion bible before continuing to show off her major hair transformation at Coachella (bleachella, anyone?) and Gigi Hadid’s 21st birthday bash.
