The story of those iconic blue boxes and the beautiful items held within is making its way to the big screen.
An authorized documentary about famed jewelry company Tiffany & Co. will be directed by Matthew Miele, The Hollywood Reporter has learned exclusively.
The film, which will be packaged and sold by Cinetic Media, will chronicle how Charles Lewis Tiffany and the people behind-the-scenes transformed a small stationery and gift shop founded in 1837 into the global phenomenon known as Tiffany & Co.
The doc will be released in Spring 2015.
“From the trophy being hoisted at the Super Bowl, to the masterpieces adorning celebrities on the Oscar red carpet, all the way down to the design of the dollar in my pocket, the Tiffany & Co. reach is just so vast,” said Miele.
Miele is no stranger to the fashion world. He directed the 2013 doc Scatter My Ashes at Bergdorf’s, about the Manhattan specialty store. He has just penned the screenplay for the upcoming biopic Our Neighbor, Norman about Norman Rockwell and has most recently signed on to write and direct the officially authorized doc about New York’s Carlyle Hotel.
“As recent films have shown, there is an enduring public fascination with iconic brands, their history and their inner workings,” said John Sloss, founder of Cinetic Media.
