Did the, err, nuts and bolts of Tiffany Trump’s relationship with boyfriend Ross Mechanic break down? (Sorry, we had to go there.) Us Weekly’s report of the 24-year-old’s breakup with Mechanic follows hot on the heels of Donald Trump Jr.’s split from his wife Vanessa, after reports surfaced of his racy tweets to a model and alleged affair with Celebrity Apprentice contestant Aubrey O’Day in 2011.
The first daughter (or second daughter — we’re strictly talking birth order here) has been attending Georgetown Law School since August and split up quietly and “cordially” with Mechanic in the fall, according to a source, because “she’s taking law school seriously.” The pair met during undergraduate studies at the University of Pennsylvania and had dated since October 2015. Oh, and he’s apparently a registered Democrat. There have been rumors about Trump’s split from Mechanic for months, since she has appeared in public solo; the last Instagram photo she posted of herself with Mechanic on Instagram dates back to July.
While they didn’t often appear together at events, the pair was photographed together with mom Marla Maples at the Taoray Wang fashion show during New York Fashion Week in February 2017. Trump worked with celebrity stylist Philip Bloch on her inaugural looks (that included a white coat and matching dress by Wang), and Bloch told The Hollywood Reporter that he has long worked with Maples and Trump. Lest we forget, President Donald Trump reportedly named his daughter after the famed jewelry brand Tiffany & Co. and bought the air rights over the famed Fifth Avenue boutique for $5 million in order to construct Trump Tower, which sits on the same New York City block — so she was pretty much born with a fashion connection.
It’s hard to keep up with all the Trump administration’s firings and resignations, and now we are hustling to keep up with breakups, too. Who’s next?
