WHY SHE MATTERS
Through a busy tour and Oscar campaign for Django Unchained, Walsh and her client Kerry Washington served up constant surprises — including a horse-print dress — and never played it safe.

The New York City-based stylist, who just signed on with styling agency The Wall Group, got her start assisting Vogue editor Phyllis Posnick. She was introduced to Scandal star Washington last spring by a mutual friend, Elle fashion director Samira Nasr (also a former boss). “It was a love connection,” jokes Walsh of her initial meeting with the actress. Adds Washington, “I feel like we are fashion twins that were separated at birth.”
HER TOP LOOK
“The pony dress!” says Walsh, referring to the theatrical white horse-patterned Giles gown that Washington wore to Django’s London premiere. “It was Django-inspired,” says Washington. “We always ask ourselves whether something’s a fashion moment — and we definitely like to think outside the box.” Other major style moments included the actress’ pink-and-aqua Oscar de la Renta with a rise-and-fall hemline at the NAACP Image Awards and her Oscar stunner: a custom coral-red Miu Miu gown with a heavy dose of Swarovski crystals.
