Stars still made room for some serious glam despite the all-black dress code in honor of Time's Up.

  • Kate Middleton

Bypassing the black dress code due to her apolitical position, the Duchess of Cambridge wore her baby glow well in a demure forest green gown cinched with a black velvet ribbon by one of her favorite Brit designers, Jenny Packham.

  • Lupita Nyong'o

Nyong’o looks strong and regal in this fall 2017 runway look by Elie Saab with strappy panels outlined in gilded embroidery and a pleated underskirt, accented by sapphire-pearl-diamond fan earrings by Sanjay Kasliwal.

  • Naomie Harris

We are loving the update of a spring 2018 Zuhair Murad couture gown that swaps out the underskirt for boss black trousers.

  • Jennifer Lawrence

Lawrence got it right in a gown with powerful lines and softly draped white sleeves embroidered with organza flowers from the spring 2018 couture collection of vocally feminist designer Maria Grazia Chiuri for Christian Dior couture.

  • Kristin Scott Thomas

Another win for Dior: Scott Thomas in a crisply tailored, black-and-white trompe l’oeil coat dress, also from the spring couture runway, that emanated female strength.

  • Gugu Mbatha-Raw

Mbatha-Raw also channeled power in a vintage Cardinalli gown with standout crystal detailing — an apt choice, given that the label was favored by Marlo Thomas as Ann Marie on “That Girl” in feminist-era America.

  • Letitia Wright

Let’s just say that Wright’s Gucci dress is the bee’s knees — adding a bit of much-needed buzz to the red carpet’s black dress code, thanks to Alessandro Michele.

  • Margot Robbie

The I, Tonya star’s beautifully beaded, pleated black halter gown from Givenchy’s spring 2018 couture collection showed off her toned arms and shoulders.

  • Andrea Riseborough

Riseborough looked positively glam in a gown that stood out with an elaborately beaded tulle top from Elie Saab’s fall 2016 couture collection.

  • Isabelle Huppert

Huppert razzle-dazzled in a gown with a texture-rich mix of ostrich feathers and sequins from the fall 2017 Armani Prive couture collection.

  • Angelina Jolie

Jolie exuded Old Hollywood glam to the 100th in a custom strapless black velvet Ralph & Russo dress with a sweeping train and Graff chandelier earrings.

  • Ruth Wilson

Three’s company for Dior: Wilson donned a tuxedo suit, point d’espirit shirt and tie from Maria Grazia Chiuri’s spring 2018 Dior runway, made red-carpet-ready with fancy sandals, that hit all the right notes for Time’s Up.
