WGA Awards: Full List of Nominations
'A Star Is Born,' 'Roma' and 'Black Panther' are among the film nominees, while 'The Americans,' 'Better Call Saul,' 'The Crown' and 'The Handmaid's Tale' will vie for trophies on the TV side.

Two big winners at the Golden Globe Awards got more good news on Monday morning.
Green Book and Roma, each of which went home with multiple Globes on Sunday night, were both nominated for WGA Awards on Monday.
Green Book, which the Hollywood Foreign Press Association honored with prizes for best screenplay, supporting actor for Mahershala Ali and comedy or musical film of the year, and Roma, which earned best foreign-language film and director honors for Alfonso Cuaron, will compete for best original screenplay along with Eighth Grade, A Quiet Place and Vice.
Up for best adapted screenplay at the 71st annual WGA Awards are BlackKklansman, Black Panther, Can You Ever Forgive Me?, If Beale Street Could Talk and A Star Is Born.
The WGA on Monday unveiled its nominees for best theatrical and documentary screenplay, as well as its nominations for best video game writing. In the documentary category, Michael Moore's Fahrenheit 11/9 will compete against Bathtubs Over Broadway, Generation Wealth and In Search of Greatness.
The guild announced its nominees in the TV, news and radio categories last month. Nominees in the drama series category include The Americans, Better Call Saul, The Crown, The Handmaid's Tale and newcomer Succession. Of those five, Handmaid’s Tale is the reigning winner and the only series to also receive a nomination for episodic writing. Maybe nominating voters wanted to spread the wealth, because other drama series with episodic noms include Narcos: Mexico, This Is Us, The Affair, Homeland and Ozark.
The lack of episodic noms for top comedy nominees are just as striking. Atlanta, Barry, GLOW, The Good Place and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel will contend for best comedy series. Only Barry, also nominated for best new series, received an episodic nomination for the HBO comedy’s pilot. It will compete with Forever, Santa Clarita Diet, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, Orange Is the New Black and, perhaps most surprisingly, the pilot for the ABC sitcom The Kids Are Alright.
Hot streaming properties The Haunting of Hill House and Homecoming join Barry in the new series category, as do Pose and Succession. The longform original category features just HBO telepics My Dinner With Herve and Paterno, as well as Hulu’s Castle Rock. (The Hollywood Reporter columnist Marc Bernardin is one of the scribes credited on the latter.) And in the adapted longform category, The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story will square off against The Looming Tower, Maniac and Sharp Objects.
The rest of the nominees are listed below — where, most interestingly, the variety talk series category snubbed Jimmys Fallon and Kimmel in favor of the teams behind Samantha Bee, John Oliver, Seth Meyers and Stephen Colbert.
The 2019 Writers Guild Awards will be handed out at concurrent ceremonies on Sunday, Feb. 17, in Los Angeles at the Beverly Hilton and in New York at the Edison Ballroom.
