Game of Thrones, Avengers: Endgame and documentary RBG lead the 2019 MTV Movie & TV Awards nominations, with each project picking up four nominations.
MTV eliminated gender from the acting categories and has bridged a divide between performances on film, television and streaming. The nominations also strive to include all content regardless of genre. Three new categories are introduced this year — reality royalty, most meme-able moment and best real-life hero — while notable categories including best kiss, best hero and best villain return.
Zachary Levi, star of 2019's Shazam!, is set to host the June 17 show. He is nominated for best hero and best comedic performance for his work in the film's title role.
The MTV Movie & TV Awards will air Monday, June 17 at 9 p.m. ET/PT from the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California. Performers and presenters will be announced by MTV at a later date.
